Sorry if this is a bit of a numpty question but I've searched and can't find an answer.

I've just changed to a 540 from my trusty 500 for the traffic service - must say I'm impressed so far.

But there are times when I just don't want to know about the traffic so how can I remove the traffic sidebar?

It's driving me mad trying to switch it off

Any help gratefully received

What cable, the x40 units have a GPRS modem built in for the Live Traffic, there is a flight mode on the device which disables the modem and thus Traffic, but it also turns off the GPS receiver so even that isn't much help - Mike

Why would you not want to know about the traffic delays on your route?

If you are not on a route all you have is a plain blue bar on the right hand side.

People get used to the way things were....
I have one TomTom device with Traffic and one without, I'm often not interested in using Traffic and would probably get rid of it off screen if there was a menu item to do so.
