|
|
Hi all,
has anybody else had a problem with their tmc receiver after upgrading to application 8.3 and map upgrade to v815.2003.
I upgraded on thursday, and today(friday) i got to work plugged in my receiver (the new one with the mini usb) into my GO720 and nothing, it still charges through it though.
Thanks

My remote wouldn't work on my 920T, a hard (paperclip) reset cured it - worth a try as you don't lose any settings.
Only problem I have had with the TMC is the TT not noticing after it has been unplugged and still trying to get traffic updates - I think it switched over to GPRS traffic - I have since disabled traffic when the receiver wasn't plugged in and it seems to have cured it.

I had to paperclip mine once after installing 8.300 to get TMC-USB to work. |

Mine worked fine and saved me 45 minutes of sitting in traffic on the M5 last night |

My TMC has totally failed after the upgrade. Drove from N Yorkshire to Plymouth and return last weekend and did not get a single fix the entire time. _________________ Mike -

Check that TT Traffic is disabled if you have set up a GPRS connection using your phone.
Mine acted weird the first time I unplugged the RDS-TMC and it was trying to using GPRS traffic and just sat there on a grey circle until I disabled traffic.
It has been fine ever since.

Thanks Andy, I did check that but it seems to make no difference as to what I do. The TMC was always "iffy" but now it just will not work. What a waste of money! I have had serious issues with my 520T ever since the last-but-one "upgrade" (GPRS connection fails too so I am totally unable to get any traffic updates) The bluetooth hands-free works though! Even so I don't think I shall invest in another TomTom. _________________ Mike -

Why, oh why, won't TomTom check out their "upgrades" before release? My 520T now has:
No TMC functionality.
I lost the USA & Canada map and Tom Tom say that as it is over a year since I bought it I have to buy a new one. (Yes I did backup before!)
The GPRS link will not work.
The voice stutters.
I now get a nanny nag screen every time after the first switch on after a disconnect from TomTom Home.
It takes up to 5 minutes to get a satellite connection whereas before it was instantaneous.

I do not usually use the RDS-TMC as I do not get a signal in our local area. I have tried plugging it in today, after upgrading to the latest map and firmware, but there is nothing, I do not even get the Traffic bar down the right hand side.
This has also been logged with TomTom, while they are sorting out my voice problem. _________________ TT Go 720 (T)

Just tried out the TMC on the Go530 with 8.3 software and 8.15 maps and it works OK. |
