Hi all,
I had a Garmin GPS12 which I have upgraded to the above eTrex.

Seems cool, lots of new things to learn how to use !

One thing is on the Anquet maps I have of the National Parks it says I can sent a database / map to a smartphone but not for GPS ?

Is there anyway I can select the O/S maps on Anquet for, lets say Brecon Beascons and then send it to my GPS?

I know my GPS is compatable with the Garmin Topo maps but all I need is Brecon so if Anquet will do it then there's no need wasting my money ??

Any help is greatly appreciated Cool
Gareth

Nope - you can't send the maps, or part of them to the Garmin. They use maps in different formats. You can send waypoints routes etc, but not the maps themselves

what about Memory Map instead then ??

On Ebay down the road from me someone is selling this:

Cotswolds outdoor

These are Land Ranger O/S so they should have public right of ways, foot paths and trails but will the maps be able to be sent to the Garmin ?

Hi,

No, you can't transfer any OS maps to a Garmin GPS (unless available from Garmin themselves).

Also, beware that strictly MM maps have no "second hand" value because theirs is a single-user license so MM will not supply a subsequent buyer with a license key (necessary for printing and GPS functions on the PC).

Cheers, Alan.
