Hi troops, At 62 I've finally succumbed and joined the wierd and wonderful world of sat-nav. With an insurance policy, I got a V.M x960 N.E that has UK & NI mapping only. My question is; is it possible to upgrade to European mapping?

I think the answer is, unfortunately, no. You obviously have the UK version - the european one is a separate model. It is possible that the models are actually the same and therefore you could install a european map, but I don't know of anyone who has.
There is then a practical problem anyway of where to get the map. I don't know if you were but ViaMichelin have actually withdrawn from the sat-nav market and no longer supply maps anyway as far as I know, but you could phone their support centre on 0870 735 03 60 to check.
Finally, if you bought from a dealer such as Amazon, they MIGHT be able to help, but if you got it from a private seller on ebay they are unlikely to be of any use (but there's nothing to stop you emailing them just in case). As you are new to sat-navs, I wouldn't recommend trying to buy maps off ebay, as they are always a bit suspect.
Although it's a shame, you have at least bought a very good product. But if you really must have european mapping you will probably need to change. If you do, this site can help you in your choice. _________________ David
