Can anyone tell me how I can extract a warning sound (polite 2) from my TT GO 500 (navcore 7.162) as I would like to add that to the Tripmaster warning sounds ?

The sound you want is contained within the data.chk file located in the root of the devices memory card, all the audio warnings bells, beeps etc are also in the same file so you need to split the file to extract the correct part.

It is much easier to use the audio line output socket (if its got one) and feed the sound into the PC where you can record it and save the resultant data as .wav .mp3 or .ogg depending upon what your other device supports.

I can probably split the file and e-mail the parts to you if thats easier as I do have some software on the PC that can take appart the data.chk file, what format do you want the audio in? - Mike

I've been delving further into this myself (as I too have a prog to split these files) and I can find the data.chk file in navcore 5 but not in 6 or 7 !

Where is it ?

( sadly the sound I want is not in navcore 5 Crying or Very sad )

data.chk is a file you will find in the root directory of all releases of the software, without this file the application fails to start, where are you looking for it? - Mike

Found it !!

There are 21 .ogg files but not the one I want Confused

I have listened to them all, but some are duplicated and some that play on the device are missing.

Which seems illogical Shocked

Are Polite 1, 2, and 3 somewhere else ?

Unless you have some audio files stored in the sounds folder (if it even exists on that software version) I am not aware of any other location the basic built in warning sounds are stored - Mike

There is nothing in the Sounds Folder.

Could you perhaps try to extract it and e mail it to me if you find it ?

Will send you the audio in the morning, not too sure what you expect in way of a sound though, as the Polite 2 I have could be different to what you are expecting and hearing on your device, worth a try though - Mike

It's Polite 3 I would like please, not Polite 2 as in my first post

The Polite 2 I can hear is beep-beep, beep-beep, beep-beep (if that makes any sense !! Laughing )

Do you need my e mail address, or can you get that from the membership Database ?

If you haven't got this sorted out yet, I have both the new and the old versions of "Polite 1,2 and 3" saved as ogg and wav files.
