TomTom devices require you to have one email address per device. You can change the email address linked to a device - i.e. if you had a GO520 with your email address "me@here.com" and got a GO540, you could change your account of "me@here.com" to cover the 540 and you'd lose the account for the 520.
I'm not sure quite what you've done here.
However, if you have not paid for any services from TomTom (traffic, or cameras, or any maps/updates) the simple solution is to start from scratch with a new email address ... Forget your old address, (me@here.com) and simply register your new 540 with a new email address (newme@here.com) in Home and on the TT website.
With a brand new email address, you are a brand new account holder with TomTom - they don't know it, but I have currently four (live) different identities with them, for four different TT devices (and I hate to think how many for previous devices - I allocate a new email address for every new device). I don't have any services paid for, except on one device, the map update program, so that one will have to stay permanently with that ID. The only problem with multiple IDs is you get multiple TomTom junk mail to each address!! _________________ Dennis
