Dabs claim to have stock now. Taking orders for delivery tomorrow atm.

Chuffing Halfords won't let me cancel - order status tracking says it's not been dispatched, but they say I can't cancel as it's "gone through" Dunno what that means.

Well, my order with handtec was not successful. It rejected my card, called my bank, apparently I used it at a cash machine that had a card scanner fitted by some idiot. Police informed my bank, my bank cancelled the card. Luckily no unauthorised transactions were placed and they caught the guy that did it.

I have placed my order with dabs using PayPal set for delivery tomorrow :D

Ahh, Halfords will take returns "If you decide that you do not want any item that we have delivered, we are happy to offer you an exchange or refund within 28 days of delivery."

Emailed Halfords to cancel and ordered from dabs Smile

Looks like Halfords will take SatNavs back in store too, so I shall do that if Halfords dispatch it anyway:-

"Please note: Satellite Navigation systems/units also CANNOT be returned to stores unless they are returned complete in all their original packaging, with ALL security seals still intact."

Yep that was pretty fast. Mine already set to shipped as well.

Hopefully they won't use Amtrak, haven't had the best of experiences when it comes to deliveries from them..

One would hope that since we acutally paid the extra for "next day" delivery, they would use someone reliable.

Pfft, I'm probably covered anyway - if Dabs are late, then I might still get one from Halfords (if they didn't get my email to cancel in time)....and take the dabs one back when it eventually arrives.

I seem to recall Shipped does NOT been dispatched, rediculous as it sounds. That's why it goes to that status so quickly. You will get a proper dispatched email later in the day with tracking details in it.

After my "concern" about Handtec, I ordered from them anyway, because Dabs didn't think they were getting any, Halfords were pricey and I already missed the next day threshold...and Handtec assured me they would get stock today.

Handtec confirmed to me they do really now have the stock and are working on getting all the orders out and I should get it tomorrow. I really hope that is true and I also really really hope I don't have to put their customer service/ fault returns to use!

I can put my concern about Amtrak to rest. I read on the dabs website they went into administration on 22nd August, and so they are now using a different company (UPS)...

Okay..it may have changed..but I do distinctly remember getting confused with Dabs before, where it showed shipped when it wasn't...I think it gets even more confusing if you pay with PayPal or Google Checkout instead of their own payment system.

Let us know if you get the tracking number?

Still waiting for a dispatched email from Handtec for mine

Just came off the phone with Hantec and they have litterally just (less than 10min ago he said) taken stock of Go 540's.

Placed a next day deivery and should have it by 09:30 tomorrow.

I knew I've already said on several posts that I'll just wait for the HD module, but hay. Embarassed

I'm in Blackpool at the moment, so I thought this would give me the chance to try it out on a decent run back to Dundee (IF it arrives and I manage to set it up on my laptop) so will hopefully be able to give some feedback soon!

Granted it's probably sitting on the back of a van right outside the Dabs warehouse, but that counts as shipped, as it's out of the building. That's fine with me anyway, as long as it is still on the back of the van when it sets off to the sorting depot at whatever time this evening.

When you check your order in the Handtec website, does it have anything in the status column? It just shows blank in mine.

Anyone know what couriers dabs / handtec use? I don't want to order if either use CityLink?

Update: Because my order isn't being shipped to my billing address, security have flagged the order and as such stopped it.

Did they call/E-mail to tell me this though?

NO!

I've canceled the order as I can't see a way around this. Will try some local Halford/Comet stores tomorrow to see if I have any joy.
