Hi there
I have been happy with my old ONE for years, but recently (must be getting old!) I find myself wishing for more instructions. For example, my ONE says...
In 800 yards,
Turn Left.
OR
After 400 yards,
Cross the roundabout, second exit.
But (apart from when it tells me "Then take the motorway") it does not tell me what road to take. I know it is on the screen, but I am usually so busy looking where I am going.
I would like it to say...
In 800 yards,
Turn Left.
Vine Street
OR
After 400 yards,
Cross the roundabout, second exit.
A345 to Ipswich.
I read that the GO520 etc 'say street names' but I cannot find anywhere on the web where anyone lists what each model will actually say - even the TomTom User Guide makes no reference to what you will hear!
Does anyone know if any of the TomTom range will do what I want - or even if I can modify my ONE to do it?
Regards

The feature is called Text To Speech (TTS). I can't find a list of models on TT website, yet..
Edit: Nice find dhn. Need to be careful of regional variations though. US models might not have the same features as the UK model. |

Many thanks for these.
The US list seems to imply at the bottom that TTS will do what I want.
It looks like I need to find an old Go520 or invest in a 530 (or wait for the 530 to be discounted as the 540 arrives!).
Can any owner of a 520/530 in UK/Europe tell me what the devices actually say?

"At the end of the road turn left on to the A584 head towards Lytham" is something I am quite used to hearing when I leave work everyday. This is typical of the voice instructions the device will issue - Mike |

It is quite funny to hear Kate on my Go520 trying to pronounce some of the street and town names here in North Wales, especially places like Rhosllanerchrugog... near Wrexham... and I haven't been onto Anglesey for a while to let her have a go at Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysyliogogogoch yet ...
