Tried just now on the off chance that MapShare was working - no joy, only an RDS-TMC update available.

I took it anyway and that downloaded fine.

Unistalled the MapShare Status module, rebooted TomTom, pin reset and rebooted my pc.

Installed the latest version of the Status monitor and, guess what?

Zero MapShare corrections available, no Countries showing and no change in the size of date available when I move the slider bar.

More unfulfilled promises from TomTom. I wonder sometimes just why I bother submitting map errors - they get the benefit, do we?

That feature stopped working around January and has since then never reappeared. I guess a majority of all users have, just like me, simply given up on this feature. Rolling Eyes

Could be Wink

Thing that gets me though is that in all that time, they never admitted it publicly.

Darren has contacts at TT, doesn't he? Perhaps he can get a definitive answer for us.

I wonder if anyone has thought that TT are now breaching the Trade Descriptions Act .. as they are still advertising a non-available product ???

http://www.tomtom.com/products/category.php?ID=0&Language=1&TT=7a1281ac%3Ababa37bd%3A00000000%3A00000000%3A00000000%3A00000000%3A6ug1111ai15i285ro2h8vgs2b3

seems to show Mapshare as readily available and a selling point .....

perhaps someone with contacts should enlighten them ??

I have no legal expertise, but I don't reckon it would be possible to prove and I'm not sure they are breaking any laws.

Map Share should be back to being available soon, there is a technical issue that is stopping it from being used.

If you wanted to use trade descriptions acts what about when your email goes down, or when there is a burst pipe at the end of the road, or a lightning bolt has stoppped you watching Emmerdale

If there were anything legal you could do they could just turn on whatever they need to, to give you one mapshare update and they will have then fulfilled their obligation.

It's only been gone a week or so!!!

Hi

I just logged in, and was greeted with MapShare updates of 2.8Mb.

No problems with this download, so it appears TomTom have sorted the MapShare problem, for now!!!
