Just to let you all know I have got the 720 back from Tomtom c/w all new guts in it!

Thanks all for your help and tips but the main lesson learned is dont listen to thier first stock answer. Push them and they will fix it! It seems that the drive destroyed itself and, had they read my emails properly, they would have known that from day one. You have to keep trying untill you get somebody who is interested instead of a dork and then things happen!!!

I’m pleased to hear that you have the device working again. This time you really can break out the champagne. When one gets caught up in a situation like you have just experienced its like banging one’s head against a brick wall.
Grrr! At this moment in time I too am in a similar situation with BT. I am trying to get my MAC code from them. Sounds simple? Not on your life. They are experts at delaying tactics.
However, I mustn’t go off topic.
