Does anyone know if Amazon will ship it to a different address other than the registered address of the card holder being used to pay? (i.e my hotel) I know some retailers are not happy doing this due to card fraud etc.
Just to re-iterate what has already been said above - Everything I order from Amazon comes to my work address (which is not in the same county as my home address - but it is in the same country), so no problems there. IIRC, you can order stuff giftwrapped and sent directly to the person you want to receive it.
EDIT: WRT delivery dates, Halfords and Dixons have just put their release dates back to 5th and 7th of November - no change at Amazon when I checked.

You've just beat me to it Guinness, I was just going to mention how Halfords have the 540 now listed as being available from around 5th Nov onwards.
I think I'll just hold off for the HD adapter. I'm happy with my current 730 and am really only looking for the additional services of the HD traffic to complete the device for me. (Part of the reason I upgraded to this from my 910) An entire new device seems a bit extravagant TBH and I have google and GPS on my phone if I'm desperate.
I've read on a few posts that the HD adapter is likely to be released concurrently with other HD services. Does anyone have any suspicions/speculation as to when the HD adapter as to it's release, now that the x40 range have expected end of Oct/start of Nov shipping dates? _________________ Graeme Bennett

I would tend to agree with you that if you already have a 730, buying a whole new device is overkill - I'm upgrading from a ONE v2, so a little more justifiable in my case.
As for the adaptor, I don't know much, other than earlier posts in this thread, but reading into the fact that the x40 is on preorder in a lot of places, and there's practically nowhere with the adaptor on preorder, you could probably assume that if it does come out, it will be after the x40.
