I tried converting an Ozi .map file to .jpr (for Fugawi import). But with no luck. I don't know what to specify for the Ozi Projection "(BNG) British National Grid" and Datum "Ord Srvy Grt Britn". Can anyone give me an example please?

Try this tool: DRGMapCal
http://members.shaw.ca/davepatton/drgmapcal/

It will do the conversion automatically.

In all of these tools you can define Datum's and Projections manually, so if you can find somewhere on the web the parameters for the Datum and Projection you can input them manually even if the tool doesn't have them built in.

The parameters for British National Grid are like this:
central latitude 49
central longitude -2
scale factor 0.9996012717.
Datum:Ordnance Survey Great Britain
Coordinates in this grid correspond to a false easting of 400km and a false northing of 100km.

A bit more information for anyone else trying this...

Ozi Explorer's .MAP files allow the calibration to be done using the OS grid (aka British National Grid or BNG) coordinates (except the moving map parameters which are stored as lat/long).

http://www.fugawi.com/docs/jprdoc.pdf

As far as I know, from googling and newsgroups, the .JPR format does not allow the calibration to be done with OS grid system - they have to be in Latitude and Longitude.

http://members.shaw.ca/davepatton/drgmapcal/

DRGMapCal handles this conversion using the OziExplorer API (i.e. it asks Ozi to do the conversion for it). This only works using the registered version of OziE - the trial/demo version isn't enough.

As igurevich38 pointed out, the .JPR file format does not explicitly support the OS GB projection - but its just a special case of the universal transverse mercator (UTM) projection.

Projection settings for BNG in JPR file:

pr=Transverse Mercator
pp=-2.0
p1=49.0
p2=.9996012717
p3=-100000
p4=400000

Datum setting in JPR file:

dm=Ord Surv of Gr Britain 1936 (Mean)

Both Fugawi and Memory map can import maps with .JPR calibration, but if there is something wrong they don't give any helpful error messages, they just fail. Rolling Eyes
