How can the position of a POI be altered? There are a few near me which are either in the wrong position or don't exist at all. Can I change the Latitude and Longitude my self or what?

Cheers

What device, what software and what map? Are you talking bout the supplied POIs or custom ones? Is your map MapShare-enabled, for instance?

Sorry, it is a Tom Tom One XL with UK & Ireland maps and the PoI's are custom. The Mapshare is enabled.

As I remember......Preferences-->Manage poi's-- and the ability to modify is on the next screen. You cannot edit the supplied poi's though.

Exclamation You CAN edit the TomTom-supplied POIs Exclamation

Assuming you are on v7 or 8 software...
You first join Mapshare (done in "Home" while connected to the PC).
Then , either:
1.
Start from Main menu page 2 - Map Corrections / Correct a map error / Edit POI / Choose a location option and category / Select from the list / tick "Move the POI on the map" and then tap the map to show the new position (you can zoom in a lot further than normal)/ tap "Done" and follow the screen prompts to complete the process

Or 2. (my prefered method)
Start from the "Browse map page / tap on the POI you want to move so it is highlighted / tap the blue cursor button at the bottom / select "Correct location" / Edit POI / tick "Move the POI on the map" and then tap the map to show the new position (you can zoom in a lot further than normal)/ tap "Done" and follow the screen prompts to complete the process.

----------------------------------------------------

For "User" POIs that you have added yourself, you can add a POI, edit the name or delete, but there is no simple method to MOVE them.
You have to add a new one and delete the original.

All that can be done from either the "Manage POIs" menu and you can also ADD the new position from the "Browse map" page by selecting the position / tapping blue cursor button / Add as POI / select the category / give it a name

Thanks for all of your help. I did try and move one but it just gave me the message 'Selected POI is not a Map Provider POI'.

So I will delete it and try and put a new one in.

Cheers
