Hi,
just joined the forum and new to the subject so I wondered if you guys could help.

I want a cheap GPS (perhaps the etrex h at around £60.00) for logging gps data to geotag my RAW photo files whilst on holiday. I have heard some bad reports about the sensitivity of the older units and wondered if the new one was any better?

Any help would be appreciated

Regards

Barry

Why not use a dedicated Geotagger?

Take a look at the Qstartz BT1000. It logs to an SD card and will store months of data even if run all the time. It comes with s/w to do geotagging and (of course) it's a BT GPS receiver. Mine has proven very reliable.

The newer 1300 looks even nicer - but no removeable card I believe.

You should be able to get one or the other within your budget. The 1000 has a simple display which will tell you your location. It also uses readily available Nokia phone batteries - so you can take a spare or two for long treks etc.
