Edge 305 - New user

I am a long time user of Memory Map and had been using My N95 for GPS although its GPS is rubbish, and then borrowing a fortrek 101 which was 100x better. (But not barometric alt).

I have recently purchased a 305, and have a few questions.


1. Even when I'm doing a course against a route I recorded a few days ago, should I still press Start to start recording? And Stop when it says "course finished" ?


2. When exporting to Memory-map, it seems to do every track except the one I did today, I have to wait until "tomorrow" until yesterdays recording appears on the route :/


3. When the unit is running as I am cycling, if I press Mode to change page (or Enter etc), the first press tends to be ignored... is this normal as a protection against knocking buttons?




So far I am really cuffed. I have both the HR and CAD unit, although I am currently using a mountain bike on smooth road tyres until I get a new road bike. The CAD unit I cannot use yet as my frame wont support it.
But at the end of the day, I got HR+CAD as a "NOH" (garmin newely overhaled) for the same price as a new just +HR unit.

Just wish it had replaceable batteries like the 101, but might just get a backup/emergency charger that will suit both my phone and gps (already have one for my phone).
