Just bought TT One XL and purchased 1 year subscription to Traffic data. Think I have set up mobile phone for GPRS okay but when I try and set up Traffic on TT it asks me if I wish to activate my 'free trial'. When i respond yes to this, it connects to server but then shows error message saying " You need a subscription for this TT service (your current subscrition may have expired)".
Can anyone help me get connected to my 1 year purchased subscription?

If its a contracted (i,e, pay the bill per month) then you shouldn't have a problem, if it is a Pay As You Go phone then it simply won't work using O2 as their PAYG service only covers WAP rather than true GPRS internet access which the TomTom servers require.
If you do have a contracted phone can you connect and request a weather update, this would at least confirm the dives and connection is working and would then point to a problem with your subscription (weather doesn't need a subscription so it is a good way of whecking connectivity) - Mike |

Checked weather, (good tip thanks) and TT is conecting to server okay, so must be subscription.
Any ideas on how to check this out. Thought I had downloaded it okay but not sure if I have done anything to activate it?
Can't say the TT web site or TT Home makes this process easy to understand!

Give them a ring in the moring and ask what is wrong, they might have to reset your account - 0845 161 0009
At least you know the phone and device are working with the server, so it must be a subscription issue which TomTom will have to resolve - do mention the fact you get the weather updates over GPRS when you phone though as this might save some messing around - Mike |
