You can I believe still use the wired version. I will seek clarification on that tomorrow. |
thanks ,as £10 a month just isn't worth it for me as east sussex really (oops meant to say "DOESN'T" ) suffers from major jams ,and the places that do i know to avoid anyway _________________ TomTom 5001

if you don't need/want the LIVE services offered by the x40's then there is little point in choosing an x40 device over an x30 as the only benefits of the x40's are the connected features.
And it's €9.95/month not £9.95/month, a small difference but worth clarifying! _________________ Darren Griffin |

Ah bu**er The press event announced Euro pricing only. Foolish of me to expect that it would translate at the standard conversion rate _________________ Darren Griffin |

I too am looking forward to the release of HD Traffic over in the UK. I am often caught in traffic not reported in the current system, or not caught in long tail backs reported, but dont exist. The current version is too unreliable to plan your routes by, I use it as an advisory service. _________________ Mike Barrett |

Maybe someone has stated this already, but which map version is supplied with the x40 units? |

As these won't be released for some time it's pointless to speculate. The demo models were running the latest public v8 release but that could well change before they become available to purchase. _________________ Darren Griffin |

24/7 IQ data is not within the v805 maps which are the latest available so one can speculate all you like as to version numbers, but as Darren has said, we don't know when they will hit the shops or what will be installed to them in way of version numbers, I guess this is one to sit out and wait to see what becomes available.
If I were you with a nice new 730 I would be more inclined to be asking if/ when some of these features will be made available for my existing hardware - Mike |

Strange that Tomtom manage to convert the price of the unit £299, but not the LIVE service.
*Availability and price of the TomTom GO x40 LIVE series and TomTom LIVE services bundle may differ per country. Some LIVE Services are country specific. |
