Well we're now sat in the press conference so we'll have news for you all later today Smile

Guinness, nice find.. I'm confused as to the accuracy of that link as they say the monthly subscription is 9.95, when reg and dabs state £8. So if they got this bit wrong, makes me wonder what else..

But they said they are live at the launch and will be issuing info shortly, same as Darren as mentioned above. So I guess something is happening today..

More waiting I guess!

Darren, keep us updated!

Yeah, I've found another one now which says £8 too - see below (although my main concern is still "when will I get one?"). There is plenty of conflicting info out there - As I said earlier, I've seen some places say the 540 will have MP3/FM, and others that it won't. I even saw one retailer claim the traffic data will be subscription free (but I guess that's confusion over RDS-TMC that some of the others have)

Like you say, we ought to find out pretty quick on both counts here after the press conference anyway.

Only 940 will have on-board .mp3 functionality and sub cost after 3 month trial period will be £7.99 pm.

540 £299.99
740 £349.99
940 £449.99

Thanks for the update Darren!

Considering the 530 had MP3 functionality already built in, it's a bit of a step backwards to take it away. I guess they need more reasons for people to buy a 940 over the other ones.

What about the FM transmitter? I heard there is also an audio out?

And finally, and most importantly, any release dates?

I would assume that if it doesn't have the MP3 then it doesn't have FM either (the places I saw which said these were omitted did mention both).

MP3/FM would not justify an extra 150 quid for me - I doub't I'd ever use the extra maps, and the inertial navigation of the 940 still doesn't add enough to justify it, especially when you can pick a transmitter up for a tenth of that and plug it into your phone.

940 comes with FM and audio out/ iPod, optional extra for other models. I'm hot footing it back to base now and will have the full details shortly Smile

Darren.......if you get a chance, can you inquire as to if and when TT plans to roll the x40 series out in North America? Thanks.

Sorry, I'm now back at the office. We did ask about this some time back and the answer was that they have no firm plans but it is of course on the drawing board subject to success over here.

Darren, did they mention a confirmed release date?

I take it it's safe to assume testing is now over....

Might I suggest that you unsticky this one, so it doesn't appear at the top of the list Smile
