I spotted this http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/magazine/7588566.stm earlier today and thought PGPSW are already listing these categories!
Well done oldie and oldboy for being one step ahead of the competition.

Isn't there always a danger in these "litigious times" that some or all of these icons are copyright?
I would have thought the National Heritage one mentioned in that article probably was, and the OS themselves are always very hot on protecting what they see as THEIR intellectual property! |

I am talking about the actual categories, not the icons, but on the same theme, if an icon were to to look similar to someones copyrighted icon, but say with one pixel in the wrong place, does that then make it a different icon?

Would a copy of a book with say one spelling mistake make it a different book? I think that if a work is substantially similar to someone else's copyright work then it is likely to infringe that copyright. |
