Hi Guys

I have just got my new 760 unit and was wondering if you know of any way for it to go straight to the map screen when the ignition is turned on.

Basically I am trying to get it to follow my route (not giving guidence) and announce POI's or speed camera sites as I come to them to alert me without having to touch any controls as it will be away from the drivers seat.
My old TomTom 300 used to do this nicely.

I notice that there is a file called autorun in the file system and wondered perhaps that could be tweaked to accomadate.

Thanks in advance.

Regards from

As far as we've seen (because this comes up from time to time) the answer is sadly, no.

The Autorun file (like all Autorun files) just contains the following

Quote:
[autorun]
icon=Garmin\nuvi_drive.ico (Tells the unit what ICOn to use in Mass Storage Mode)
action=Garmin nüvi ?? Not sure what this does
label=Garmin nüvi (Tells the unit what Label to use in Mass Storage Mode)

There is nothing to tweak there, nor does it have anything to do with how the unit starts up in normal operation.

Don't know if this helps but.. On my nuvi 660 I have the Garmin Lock (4 digit PIN) set. If I switch it off mid route when it gets turned back on it goes to the PIN entry screen BUT I still get voice guidance of the route I am following. Now I don't know if this extends to camera warnings - I never leave it that long.

The autorun is only invoked when connected to your PC - it basically creates the name and the icon you see when attached to the PC. It has no effect on the normal operation of the unit.
