Hi There,
I'm a new member and seem to be struggling to get the camera database working on my Zumo 400.
I've downloaded the single file and installed it on my Zumo via POILoader. I know this worked because if I then look under;
Where To - Extra - Cusom POIs
i see;
pocketgps_eur_cameras
pocketgps_eur_pmobile
if I then look in the first file, the top entry says;
MOBILE:52099 116.8mi SE
so all looking good.
I then went to Proximity Alerts and unchecked Garmin cameras and checked Custom POI's
the problem is, its not working. I did 300 miles yesterday on the bike for work and none of the cameras appeared, and yes, I did stray a little over the speed limit approaching some of them ;-)
As a biker I desperately need this thing to work. Any ideas ?
Kind regards

did you know you installed the europe database as opposed to the UK one? I am assuming from the .co.uk email address that you are UK - based? The EUR download does not include the UK cameras (due to MPH / KPH differences)
Hope this helps

Hi MaFt
many thanks for your help, I've just downloaded the UK specific database and installed it. I'll go for a spin later and find my nearest speed camera :-)
I happened to notice that the size of the UK database is almost twice the size of the entire European database !
does this say something about the country we live in ?
Kind regards

Partly, yes.
And partly because the Euro database is a "younger" project that won't be as comprehensive simply because there are many more contributors to the UK data.
One advantage of that though, is that if you are a user of the euro database, you stand a much higher chance of getting free lifetime subscription by spotting a new entry. |
