TT 5 reactivation

I have an old TT5 with WE maps 6 (bought as down load) - I have had to re-install the software due to some problem on my old Dell Axim - no problems I have the codes stored on the TomTom site and the down load map code is there too - in my Maps... but no.
By putting my new Go 530 on to the internet through TomTom home I have erased my old details... now where do they warn you that you need a new email address / log on for each tomtom you own?

So far support say it is my problem and I should have stored the details on the website (which is what Id did!!!) oh well!

So any ideas how I can find the code for the maps to reactivate?

When I had this problem, the map product code showed up when I hovered my cursor over the map entry in Home v1.5. And your TT5 device code is shown on the page after you tap the signal strength meter. Then you visit ttcode.com and put them both in to get the activation code.

I did all that, but then used TT Home to install the map again and it worked, WITHOUT needing the activation code!!

It's very bad that TT don't make enough of this separate email address business. It simply isn't good enough for them to merely tell you the device connected is not the one for this account, then asking you if you want to change the account or use or create a different one - at that stage they should warn you of the consequences in mile high letters.
