OK Andy, deleted that. Who cares about mapshare corrections anyway? I wish I could delete those corrections I've seen today in my travels - all the 29, 39, 49 etc speed limits. Ridiculous.
As I'm sure you know, you should be able to delete those in Home with: "Tools / TomTom Map Share / Remove corrections from others" but of course hat loses ALL corrections not just the stupid speed ones. (I'm beginning to think this is no bad thing!)

Well said Nick...
What's especially galling in this competition is that you will win a map that you will then have to put the same changes into all over again!
That is IF they ever get around to letting you have that map in first place. *points, laughs at beta map testers*

And speaking of speed limit data... how in the world am I supposed to change the information as I barrel along an interstate doing 85 mph? Mark hundreds of corrections for later and try to remember them all? Didn't even bother to try, even though the data was rubbish for most of my 1,400 miles and back trip past week.

The current user interface for this is rubbish.
My suggestion to Tomtom would be to add a screen mode where there is a set of buttons around the map for each 5MPH (or 10kph) and you just hit the appropriate button when you find yourself driveing along a road with the wrong limit shown. It would be 20x faster and 10x more accurate than anything we can do now. _________________ Tomtom Go 1005

Either that, or simply a button saying "correct speed limit to your current speed", with it automatically rounding to the nearest 5 mph. Two taps instead of ...gawds, way too many.

Correct a map for TT, then win it?
You must be joking? Even if you win it you won't get it!
They'll want a unlock code first, then screw up HOME when you try to download it.
And after all this , if you succed, you'll find it's the same old version without corrections.
Buy a Collins Extra Large Scale and forget TT.
Mind you, IF and WHEN someone comes up with a spec that combines ALL the good features of other satnavs, with Text-to-speech, and able to run on a PDA, that sells for a GOOD price to include permanent activation, then, and maybe only then......

We might also consider an addendum to the title of the thread ... "Beta test a map for TT, then get it free." Several of us to whom this applies have now been waiting nearly six months. Good job we don't need to navigate to anywhere! (Ooops, what was that about me being a whitevanman doing 60,000 miles a year?). They haven't even had the decency to offer me the next one after mine, 720 - My GO720 is still on map 710. _________________ Dennis
