I have seen some discussion on using TYRE to create itinerarys and also some mention of using Google Maps.
How is it done using Google Maps - I have created a route, but I can't seem to find any "Export Itinerary" function?

From what I could google, it seems to indicate that you search for a 'business address' and then that location can be sent to your tomtom. It then plots a route in the usual manner. Cant see an itinerary version of that function though. |

What you need is a little piece of code called the "Houghi script"
Either use it or download it for your own website from here: http://houghi.org/tomtom/
Does just what you want.
But were you aware that Tyre can either use Google Earth or Google Maps as well? |

Hi dcoleman
Planning an Itinerary on your desktop and transferring it to your Tomtom ia quite simple and it works. If you use the Google Maps method first go to http://houghi.org/tomtom/ and it will explain the procedure.
If you use Tyre to creat the itinerary you can send it straight to your Tomtom, its much easier but both methods work. _________________ Tomtom Go 720.

Hi dcoleman,
I use TYRE with my TomTom730, and it's probably the most useful thing I use. When you install TYRE on to your PC it will install into HOME, and become an option on page 3 of HOME.
When you run TYRE it will then give you the option of opening Google maps, create an itinerary with as many waypoints as you require, then calculate the route, download to your TomTom, and even PLAY the route for you(with a little 'car'icon) on the Google map.
Give it a try it's available here http://www.janboersma.nl/gett/ |
