Have a look at this link from this site. http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=POIs It is kept up to date by some of our members and as far as I am concerned, much more accurate than the TomTom POI's which can be up to a 1/2 mile out. Smile

OV2 is the file format that the TomTom uses for POI files, choose that for type - Mike

... and before you ask, have a read of this page to find out how to install them.

Make sure you have backed up your device first (FAQ no 1).

Then, FAQ no. 4 describes how to install the POIs (speed cameras are just a POI file, so the instructions are identical).

Can you give any more information about your model?
Not your fault, but there are several different models of TomTom ONE, which can work slightly differently when it comes to loading and using POIs.

You can certainly add the POIs, but the menus to handle POIs are different.

As far as I know, there is no such thing as a TomTom XLS, but there are a couple of different ONE XL's. Is it the one with the new "easy-port" mount? Might be easiest to quote the number on the bottom (something like 4S00.007)

Most of the Windows is set to hide the extension. I would re-extract new copies of the files and this time upload them to the unit without renaming them or trying to change anything.

When i first downlaoded the file, i dowloaded more than one item so i had lets say pizza hut and asda in the same one and it was called poi. So i then downlaoded each one individually like asda then pizza hut and renamed them as such. They come as .zip or .rar depending on what compression software you use?

If you have WinRar installed the PC will identify any zip files with the same icon as used for WinRar, even though the file extension is still .zip so this is an easy mistake to make.

Download the POI selection again as I do not recognise the .ni file extension, something is clearly wrong with the download you have made - Mike
