Guys,

Does the new XL have an SD slot?

If I buy the 'European Maps' model can I get the US maps onto it?

Yes. You would need to remove the Europe map (saving it on the PC temporarily) and replace it with the US one.
They do a version for the One and XL but it has been reduced in size to fit the available space (usually by reducing detail and "curvyness" rather than actual roads). It is 791.6 MB.
But there are several other options including one of the US and Canada which is 847.6 MB or individual regions which will be cheaper.

By the way, in the UK, the new XL is referred to as "the XL 30 series" (not v2). You need to select that in the drop-down box in the mapshop.
