Just got a Garmin Nuvi 250 - what should i do

just bought a garmin nuvi 250. im new to sat nav but anything technical i pick up quickly, so what should i download/update?

i would like caravan holiday parks and maybe add thai restaurants to my POI.

how do i go about this?

by the way my garmin map is City Navigator Europe NT V9

For starters, click on "318,000 FREE POIs" at the top of the page. Then by the box saying 'TomTom' click and select 'Other (CSV)'. This gives you a long list which includes restaurants and associations such as the Caravan Club, plus hundreds of others.

You can thensearch through the threads for POI-type topics for other suggestions

First of all. Backup the Nuvi. Make a folder on your PC called Nuvi 300 Backup and copy the entire contents to this folder. Burn it to CD / DVD and keep it somewhere safe.

Then download and install WebUpdater. Plug in your Nuvi and run WebUpdater and install any relevant updates. Mainly Unit Software / Firmware.

Note: When you complete this you'll need to restart the Nuvi. It is normal for it to take a while to restart. Just leave it.
