Tom Tom navigator + MDA 3 and built in GPS

Hi all I am a brand new member so be gentle with me . I have tom tom navigator on my MDA 3 does anyone know how to get it to recognise the built in GPS?

Is the device you have the MDA Vario 3 or the MDA Compact 3, one has a keyboard and the other doesn't, either way it will work with the navigation software you have purchased.

Within the TomTom application go to change preferences/ GPS Status and press "Configure"
Next select "Built in GPS Device" if this option is offered, if not choose "Other NMEA GPS Device" Baud speed or 4800 and Comm port 4.

In the top right corner of the GPS Status page is a small yellow/ blue disk, this should now be revolving, if it is turning take the device outside and wait for a position fix which can take up to 20 minutes for the first time, after the first acquisition assuming the device is used on a regular basis, the time to first fix will be around 30 seconds - Mike
