hi guys i have a tom tom 910 thats has been working fine up till now,i plugged in the car charger into the sat nav and tried to switch it on but it wont come on even tho the green light is showing,i have tried the reset button but no good,i spoke to tom tom and they said for me to send it in for a qoute,i think the battery has completely gone if it has could i change it myself as theres a website called buy bits .com selling the batterys for £20 any ideas many thanks

It is possible to do but if you brick the unit trying this don't blame me! - have a read of This thread where you will find a "How To change a battery on the 910" complete with pictures etc - Mike

Very difficult one to say as I have not seen the device, it could even be the hard drive that has failed, is there any audible click/ noise from the hard drive if you power it from the car and switch it on? - Mike

nothing mate with the charger plugged in all i have is the green light on but the unit just dosent switch on

i did read on another site that the charger could of caused this problem if it was faulty but they never said what was gone or the remedy

I would suggest you contact the chaps at "Sat-Nav Shop" which can be found Here they will have a better idea, or if the device is less than two years old use TomTom as it has a two year waranty - Mike

had same problem with my TT300 sent it to sat nav man and was back within 48hrs all fixed total cost £50.00 and has been used constantly since by friends and family with no problems
