Hi guys - new poster from UK

Is it possible to upgrade my HTC Touch PDA P3450 with mobile Microsoft Windows - and turn it into a Satnav device?
If so - what software would you recommend, what additional equipment would I need?
Im just looking for UK maps and possible fixed speed camera alert.

hope you can advise me

cheers

The HTC phone you have isn't fitted with a GPS receiver so to start with you will need a Bluetooth GPS receiver. Once you have the receiver you will also need some software to display your position on the map and provide a routing solution.
For a GPS receiver I would look at the Holux GPSlim 240 there is a review of this receiver on This Page, or have a look at the qstarz unit which can be found Here - there are others to consider but either of those will perform very well.
For software there is a wealth of choice, TomTom Navigator 6, I like the interface but the latest maps you can run on this software are currently over 12 months old, so I would steer away from this product.

IGo, nice interface BUT it is supplied on a 2GB memory card with only a small amount of free space, as the software is locked to the card you cannot copy it to a larger capacity card.

Route 66 - New application very recently launched but some confusion is around as to the age of the maps they have included.

There are others, can you offer a little more detail as to what you want from the device, simple AtoB planning/ guidance or are you looking for traffic information and other such additions from the device?
Oh and before I forget Welcome to the forum - Mike
