got this 2day and it never tells me to do a u-turn, it just takes me around different streets so im facing the other way!

ive had a look but i cant see anything in the manual

Usually if you go off route and there is an alternative route using nearby streets then that's the route it will take to get you back on route.

If that's not an option then it will tell you to make a u-turn.

That's how I see it.....

Thats how my 1 XL works ie:- U turn if possible or a loop around the streets to get you back on course.
