Usual advice request

Hi Folks,

Can you help? I'm looking at getting a new sat nav. I had a 710 until it was removed without permission from my car :-( Anyway, I've had my eye on the TT920T as I go to the US quite often and fancy the extra bits it offers. Currently they are on offer at most stores for £279. I understand TT have just released a new version so I'm wondering whether to plump for a 920 now or hang on to see if they reduce further or wait for the price of 930's to drop a bit. I'm also paranoid about putting any sat nav near my PC for upgrades. I seem to have a habit of them going pear shaped. Any advise would be appreciated.

No one can tell you what's going to happen to prices. The 920T may come down further, but as they're no longer being produced the supply could dry up and they could become either unavailable or more expensive. You'll have to make up your own mind when to jump!

There's no danger connecting your satnav to your pc - as long as you back up using Windows Explorer as soon as you get the device. Don't change any settings or have a little play first! Then back up regularly, especially before downloading anything to the unit, and save these backups on your pc and externally on DVD, separate HD etc. Then if things do go pear shaped you can just restore your latest back up.
