Hi all

Is there a known issue with the 2210 & bluetooth ?

I am having all sorts of problems and it is very hit and miss as to when it decides to work with my Navman 4100 BT GPS.

I get the bluetooth console taking over and then I can only reset the machine.

I've been considering the 2210 myself & discovered that there is a BIOS update just out that cures a few problems. Take a look at http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/HandheldiPAQ/us/locate/105_5721.html

Hi I was thinking of buying 2210 and the navman 4410 but reading your problem it's making me think again. How long a did you purchase the items. Someone suggested a solution, did that work?

Please let me know as I am begining to wonder if Tom Tom is a better solution with 2210.

Hi
I've got a 2210 and rikaline bluetooth gps receiver with TomTom2. You have to follow the instruction exactly or you can mess up, but mine is up and running ok. Applied the registry hack detailed on this site, launch TomTom and 10s later off you go.
Hope this helps.

Hi all

Was going to download the new BIOS patch but have now lost active sync completely and so no coms with my Pc.

Anybody any ideas on this one ?

Am really starting to wonder if I have made a big mistake with the 2210 & Bluetooth as anything with Microsoft involved is going to have more bugs than you can count.

Do a full reset or whatever it is called, hold the two outer butons pressed on the front while presing the reset on the back, hold them for maybe 5 seconds and it will reset ( I think that is the way!)

Install the new update from the link above.

My 2210 is Ok so far with bluetooth since the new bios.

Mark.

If you're all talking mainly about the BT Manager popping up now and again whilst in your application and losing connectivity to the BT GPS, this is a known problem certainly on the 2210 and possibly WM2003 wide. It's a resource issue when the processor/ram is being taxed and the first heavy thing for the OS to shut down is the BT connection.

There were some reg tweaks that some people suggested cured it, some didn't, not sure if the latest ROM PAQ fixes it, haven't really wanted to give it a go because I have far too much installed here.

Hi all

I left the battery out of the 2210 for a few hours & rebooted my desktop. This has got active sync working again and so I downloaded the lastest ROM patch from HP and the BT driver again and reininstalled Navman and Memory map software.

Bingo, it not only works but works very well. I can get four satellites with the Navman 4100 on my desk indoors with no clear view of the sky.

This is most impressive as with my active mice & helix antena I had to at least put them outdoors.

So what is the new version of pocket Pc 2003 all about that microsoft are about to launch ?

I would probabily not bother as if it's working then don't upset it !!
