cigar lighter socket is too small

hello i drive a large vehicle

i have a tomtom sat nav that works fine in the car in the cigarette lighter socket

but when i am in my truck there is only a smaller 12v socket and if my tomtom has a flat battery i can't use it cos the socket is too small

can anyone help

i presume i need an adaptor or convertor to use it

any help would be appreciated

I wonder if your 12V outlet in your truck is a Hella socket. You might take a look at this page. You often find these smaller sockets on motorbikes; my Triumph has one, for instance.

Call into any motorway services or truckstop and you will be able to buy a adapter. I have one that is on a leade and gives 2 outputs, handy for a phone and satnav.
