They have told a few people that the v8 maps are not included in the Latest Map Guarantee scheme....
I think you should point out to them the wording of their own press release on the launch of the x30 models in the UK.

Seems pretty clear to me that they should refund your money! |

I got a very rude women from tomtom on the phone she is saying that the map that i brought was the lastest version on my tomtom , you only get a free update if the map has come out after that date you brought your tomtom. ie as I got mine last wek that was the lastest map out then. and the 30 day upgrade does not count.
It only counts say if I got a tomtom today that does have the old maps v800 and I can get an upgrade to v805 within 30 days. |

Not true at all. Get back on the phone to them and ask to speak to a supervisor.
Tell them to look at the definition on their own support pages HERE
Quote: | TomTom provides you with the latest map pre-installed on your new device. On top of that, if a newer map is available within 30 days from when you start using your device, you are entitled to one free map download. You can check if there is a new map version available as many times as you like within this period. |

Just got this email from tomtom
Thank you for contacting TomTom Customer Support with regards to your map
Your reference for your query is xxxxxx-xxxxxxx.
After speaking to my supervisor we cannot offer you a refund due to the fact that you have already downloaded the map, thus breaking the seal, however as an exception we would like to offer you the next map release for free. Western Europe.
With Best Regards
The TomTom Customer Support Team
So you only do get Western Europe at least this is something as long as they remember when the next maps are due. |

Just to go back to original post, it seems mapquest use navteq for there data, google uses teleatlas, and the roads show corect on there.
http://www.mapquest.co.uk/mq/home.do
If you need to compare a road on your tomtom map with navteq then you can on this site, thus seeing how upto date it is.
It does seem to me that navteq are more upto date.
Anyone know who uses navteq maps? the new igo 8? |
