Serial Number: G14495G01080 (printed on bottom of box and on device - people above seem to have been quoting the activation card number - which is irrelevant)
Any identifying marks: Had customised start up screen, which is the default screen but with my name (Nick Gilbert) and mobile telephone number at the bottom. "Home" location set to my Chelveston Crescent address.

Stolen 6 June 2006 from Beeston, Nottingham

Garmin i3 with 256 MB card, UK maps V8, Officially registered with Garmin in my name.

Serial number 73105391

Stolen with the unit and Car power lead.

Police have been informed.. I think this will be another statistic..

No camera database only some personal POIs ( about 19 of them) Crying or Very sad

Wish the units had some sort of tracking code which can be used to disable the unit remotely upon owner request.. Should not be difficult to implement with GPS will it ? That should reduce the satnav thefts (and pirated software copy..)

While I agree entirely with what is being said above along with some excellent tips. (Insurances etc).

Please don't lets spoil this forum by turning it into a free for all.

identifying marks: none - only a few months old at the time ot the theft.

NOTE: This is a retroactiver entry, I only just found these forums. Unit was stolen, with car, in October 2005; car recovered, GPS not. There is an existing CAD and Crime reference in regards to this: PM me if you know anything. Thanks.
