As far as I know there isn't one. However you could create one with the information from Here.

You can get the lat/long from the Grid Ref, inputting it into the Street Map Grid converter Here, using the Landranger entry option. The accuracy is in the order of 100 yards.

Just choose those that will be within range of your travels. Wink

Im not sure its worthwhile, I tried it once without a lot of success, It was hard getting a reading of the compass on the natsav without moving plus difficulty on getting a straight line from the transmitter, the best i could do was to try and line up for direction with a adjacent road and you need to ensure your map is pointing north, There is a website that gives you the nearest transmitter(s) and direction in degrees which i cannot remember at the moment but of course you would need access to web. I finished up rotating the aerial with the wife watching the screen for best picture.

aj2052: satnav in 'north up' mode along with an actual real magnetic compass should suffice, surely?

You could use the info on this site to create what you want. Location is 6digit OSGB. Lots of other useful info also.

Yes MaFt , i think the only answer is to use a magnetic compass, and the website I used if i remember you only had to input your post code and it gave you the nearest transmitters and the bearing in degrees, a far simpler way than than trying to use GPS i would have thought, I will have to do a search. i also tried it using autoroute by drawing a straight line from transmitter to get a bearing but of course you need to know your actual orientation

hi all

many thanks for all your replies. it seems quite complicated

I think that using the name of the town where the transmitter is I should be able to work out the angle from my location. the gridlines on the map show me north so i use my trusty compass to show me the bearing of the transmitter town.

I hope it works and I will give it a try when i am next out

many thanks to all

For further information, this is the site, by inserting either your grid reference or postcode it will give you a bearing for both local and distant Analogue transmitters, also a page for Digital transmiiters.

Below is a link to a POI file for the Analogue TV transmitters

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=U0PL0NW3

I will be uploading to PGPSW as well.

I am now working on all the relay stations but there are quite a few of them and it might take a couple of weeks.

*****UPDATE*****

I have now finished all the analogue relay stations and the new file is now available for download here:-
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=4AT3C4J6

It contains 1084 main and relay transmitters for the UK including NI and I have included some icons that you can use if you want.

It will also be uploaded to PGPSW as well.

I am now starting a POI file for the Republic of Ireland transmitters.

Look in the "Special Interest" category in the POI downloads Smile
