Is there (I looked but I often dont see) a POI for biker cafe/pubs - might be useful on a rideout to know where they are?

Yep, there is one.
I have it on my TT, shows the Ace cafe in London anyway. That may be the only 1 POI !!!!! Razz

Thought I got it from here, or maybe TT Home??

You can get a transport cafe POI file here
Scroll down to near the bottom of page and link to file is in orange panel on left of screen.
While wer're on the subject I can recommend Jacks Hill cafe on A5 just north of Towcester It's great food and a decent mug of tea - very popular with bikers.

Laughing Out Loud, no, I know this is a serious point for you - and us.

The Biker stuff is under the Food and Drinks POIs.
ANDDDD, I did get it from here.

Smile

Tell you what though, it is a problem, lot of stuff on the TT Home, that is a straight copy from here, at least it seems to be.

I'm sticking with you guys, been a 'lurker' for years, until you forced me to register - so to speak.

We have succeeded in blocking or speed camera POIs but not the open content. TomTom seem unconcerned about the wide scale theft of this data from community sites, the ones that drive custom to their doors and provide support for them.

I shall be discussing this with them next week, a few of the community site admins are gathering to 'discuss' this and we will be looking for a solution from TomTom who caused the issue in the first place.

Had it been us sharing their data you can bet we'd have had their legal team on to us quicker than you can say ' Oi No'.

Right, calling all bikers.
Have had a look inside the Biker cafe POI, there is only 3 listed.
1 in NI, 1 in Garforth and the Ace cafe on the North Circ London.

Now I know that I know of a couple more, and there has to be more riders out there that can add to it.

I'm of 2 minds to go for a 'near as damn it' using Google maps, or to get an exact fix from the TT when I am outside the places.
Problem is, I don't have a TT specific for the bike, but can sling it in a backpack.

For the Mods here, do you have any prefs on how we update the POIs??
I have done about 7 today using the Google map option, for other POIs.

The hospital POI appears to be well short as well.
Not that I want to use them, but might be useful for us bikers.

In the absence of any other POIs then the best guess is better than nothing. This can then be refined over time.

I know of a couple of biker friendly cafe,s, question is how do you want them submited, getting the co-ordinates off the camera map would be one way.

If you visit our POI Download pages we have a submission system much like the speed cameras page with a Google Map interface.

Hi, The company I work for runs www.bikepit.com, which lists bike meets and cafes. They've been on about refreshing the look of the site and making it more wiki based for a long time. One of the suggestions is to offer a POI version, but they are worried about making the database open - as it cost a lot of money to compile.

I'd welcome any suggestions that I can pass on. Smile
