Hi,
I've been using the camera database now for a couple of months and around Northampton it has been very good with every camera position i have driven past being listed in the database.
Do we know when the next release of the database will be as it's been nearly 2 months now since the last release?

As soon as it's ready. Sheesh, people think we just sit around all day doing nothing 8O
We hope to have one ready in a couple of weeks. It really depends on other workload on reviews, and also we have CeBit coming up which is going to take a lot of our focus. |

Just a quick idea on the subject.
I have sent a couple of emails now with the checkpoint.ov2 file attached.
Now as the second file also contains the camera's spotted on the first file this is surely doubling up on the workload (yours and mine, but especially yours).
My idea is to have a cut off date for submissions for the next update, this could be done in 2 ways.
1: All submissions upto the last day of the month are included in the next update.
2: An announcement on the Front page a week before the cut off date.
This way we can keep our own checkpoint.ov2 file intil we know a update is due and once we know we are unlikely to be adding more before the next cut off date we can upload meaning just one file from each submitter for each update..
If you are still awake after all this (well meant) drivell, do I get this months Good Idea Award |

As the release date for an update is 'fluid' dependent on the number of submission and workload etc it is difficult for us to set in stone a date i.e. all cameras reported before end of month will be in next release etc but I like the idea of announcing on the front page the close date 7 days ahead. _________________ Darren Griffin |
