disable speed camera alerts on 760?

Just read a review of garmin 760 that said it was not possible to turn off speed camera alerts. Is that true? I find it hard to believe. When I got my i3, if memory serves, it didn't have speed cameras already loaded so I loaded them form this site. In the end I found the pinging so annoying, especially when it pinged during direction announcements, that I deleted them and reverted to keeping my eyes peeled. I think I would get very irritated if they were on all the time.
