The TomTom support WEB site is now listing the x30 range in their support pages... encouraging that support articles already exist for products that have not been released yet.....

Lets give it to TomTom they are consistent, all these new x30 users will at least be beta test the software for the x20 users get the upgrade...

Yeah but no but yeah but don't the algorithms assume that you will be travelling at the MAXIMUM speed permissible within each speed limit without allowing time for junctions, traffic etc.

Thus, if you were to plan a journey from K-E-Y-N-S-H-A-M to Glasgow or Edinburgh along motorways only, your plethora of TomToms will assume that you will be travelling at a constant speed of 70mph - because that is the speed limit for motorways.

Alas, your countless TomToms won't allow for traffic, roadworks, pee breaks etc, hence your average speed will be LOWER than that indicated by your innumerable TomToms. ...snip...

Hi mate.

I thought the point was, the WHOLE rationale behind IQ Routes is that it DOESN'T now use the stated speed limit for each section of road, to calculate journey times.

It now uses historic "actual speed travelled" data accumulated from us lot over the years, sending them this.

Thus, if the demo (and I confess I've not watched it yet), shows him using IQ Routes, and the route is suggesting an average speed for the whole journey of 60mph, then the point is, this is actually what IQ Routes believes the actual historic data to be possible of.

If so, then it answers the other question I had in my head about IQ Routes - if lots of us speed, is this going to be reflected in the IQ Routes suggested average speed.

Seems so *Laughing Out Loud*

Grins.

My old boss used to fly a Cessna.
He always worried about whether the Altimeter was accurate, so ended up fitting another.

Of course they read slightly different, so he had to get a third one....

and then....

In all my numerous countless posts in this and innumerable other forums, alas I have NEVER ever let it be known that I have even considered buying, far less actually bought, even ONE altimeter, never mind THREE. 'Course, if I had some other make of satnav, I do believe I might ALREADY be using three altimeters.

Why does everybody always accuse me of buying altimeters based on not a single SHRED of evidence?

INSTANT EDIT. That is not to infer that I will never ever buy any altimeters as it is my total right to do.

Oi you lot.

My thread on 930 availability was locked in favour of this thread, because it was already dealing with the same subject. It's hard to find post in the last 2 pages dealing with 930 availability.

Can we have a few posts on 930 availability and prices, otherwise I shall start another 930 availability thread.

For the avoidance of doubt, this post is intended in good humour - I enjoyed reading the last few posts.

Sorry Spike - you've come up against a bunch of old cynics who have little faith in the new device. But the title is "at Pixmania" and I honestly thought that it had run its course until Friday when we are all hanging out waiting for Vicky's update. Needed to pass the time to ease the suspense - my innards are fit to bust with the anticipation!

It's because you're a God-like figure and people just need to know how high your pedestal is Thumbs Up

...plus you've exhausted the TomTom GPS market, so an altimeter might seem the next best thing (short of a pedometer to check how far you walk every day making your countless innumerable deliveries. Rolling Eyes

PS Pixmania delivered my dishwasher exactly when they said AND they phoned me about 20 min beforehand to say exactly (give or take a few milliseconds) when they would be knocking on my door, so they get a thumbs up from me

What's wrong with that? It's just the same as your "I met him on the internet" line...except there were no old ladies in the vicinity when I placed my order Laughing Laughing

INSTANT EDIT - at least my dishwasher has an 'off' button Wink
