Hi there again,

After my initial problems with a broken RIKALINE CF 6021-X6 GPS I have finally received a new gps. This time it is recognised and no messages asking for card drivers appear under WM 2003.

However, I have not been able to get a sat fix up to now. Crying or Very sad

I have installed the Tomtom gps 2.08 and in the GPS window I have chosen Tomtom Navigator GPS (there is not separat entry for Rikaline 6021x-6 ) and 'Socket CF+_Serial_Port_Card_Rev2' in the options field for the connecting port.

The green light on the CF goes on and in the status window I can see the gps going to work and eventually 1-5 bars of the 12 available bars start to show some connection. I can also see numbers appear on the little radar screen on the right lower part of the Status window. However, the gps does not show the any coordinates and does not show any speed. So it seems the gps is not able to get a (reliable ?) fix. I also tried GPS FIS and I also get no fix.

What am I doing wrong ? Am I not using the right configuration in the TomTom gps with regard to the chosen brand of gps or the chosen port ? Or am I simply operating in an area where the gps can get no fix ? (of course I tried it outside)

Any ideas are more than welcome !!!

Thanks in advance

Jancke

Jancke, you will not get a signal if you select TomTom Navigator GPS because this iis looking for a serial card. Use NMEA 0183v2 and in the bottom (second box), you'll have an option to select the card. It may appear as unrecognised card.

I have the rikaline gps-6021-X6 with the hp2210, on my list of drivers I use "Leadtek GPS9534" the 6021-X6 is not listed but I found Ambicom GPS-CF works fine.
Sitting in office at moment have 4 locked statellites (red) plus 3 more (grey).

Hope this is of some help. (sorry if it is not)

Paul (no longer lost)
