Hi just a quick question from a recent convert to the camera database...

I took the leap and decided to go for the full sub category version which obviously involves enabling and setting up of the 24 categories for proximity alerts one by one.

Q. When I get a database update and load it will I have to re-enable and re-do all the proximity alerts each time or will TT remember the settings?

I don't think I can go through all 24 every time I update!

Thanks and apologies if I missed this solution somewhere else - I had a really good look round the forum first.

All you do for the update is copy the new files to the device and they will replace the old data sets, there is no need to adjust or change any settings on the device - Mike

Superb Mike! Many thanks.

Out of interest, do database users usually disable the TTN6 pre loaded cameras to avoid duplicates or is it a case of "the more, the merrier!"?

You can leave them on the device to get the occasional double warning, after a week or two you will remove them having made up your mind which is the better system Wink - Mike

I find the best way is to just add another extension to them, they are then still there if required, i.e. data.chk to data.chk.old, just remove the .old bit if you want to reuse

The data.chk file mentioned in the above thread contains the warning sounds that the device can use, it does not have anything to do with Speed Camera files from this site or TomTom.
Don't remove the data.chk file or the device will not even start up - Mike
