Maybe this is the new TomTom method of getting you to avoid traffic problems? Laughing

Hi Dennis, i have taken your suggestion from your earlier post and fired off a curt email to support.
It is crazy to think i upgraded my original 700 for a 910 so as to use the traffic option, which as we know just didn't arrive for almost a year and when it did it worked as well as a dole bludger.
Now i try the module i have had sat in the box for a while with my 720 and although it is the 4v00.013 model it is still unuseable.
It seems my module does not know classic FM exists.

Is East Sussex on this planet??? Laughing Laughing

Actually, that antenna does work, all you need is somewhere where there's a signal.

BUT when you get the signal, the message is rubbish - a problem with v7 Navcore. We're all sitting here desperately hoping TT will sort it out soon. Trouble is, they are just releasing a nice new shiny toy with v8 Navcore and v8 maps, so we're a bit worried (make that a helluva worried!!) that they may just kind of overlook v7 and let us all have v8 Navcore (but not until after they've sold a loverly bunch of new shiny toys!) and let us BUY v8 maps.

I was kinda thinking of hanging on for the 930, but thought i would sit on the fence a bit.
As for the navcore 8 i have actually put it on my 720 it works but obviously the lane change thing will only work with the ver 8 maps.
Home don't like it either it tells you that it doesn't support your device.
Although you can update etc.
Some guys have managed to get the virtual Go update, i couldn't get it.
In the end i put 7.2.2.1 back on to see if this helped the TMC issues.
You could be right about East Sussex i'm sure they are all Tasmanians down here ( dont ask me to explain that one here) Laughing
I have a job tuning into talksport in the car, i have to use 3 different channels between here and Gatwick.
As a van man Dennis i don't know if you get over this way, but as Darren pointed out in a post about cameras etc i have heard that they are trialing the cats eyes thing on Handcross hill on the A23.

But TT have changed the behaviour of the green circle so you may not actually have a signal at all, it might have just had a sniff of a signal and then the circle stays green for at least 10 mins.

Do you get traffic incidents displayed at all in the map view?

Some people (including me) have reported that you get better reception if the TT is not powered from the car and is running on batteries, give it a try.

I find 7.221 will give you the best indication of what is going on for troubleshooting, any version after this is a little misleading to say the least.

Thanks Andy for raining on my parade Laughing Laughing

I had the green circle but on scrolling on a planned route upto London it was all green. At 9 am i find that a little strange.
Mind you i read somewhere today that the route is green because it is the route you planned.
Blimey, i should stick to Southern Counties Radio traffic updates.

Now we're learning aren't we?

As for 7.221 being better, the "best indication" is really only a matter of degree - it told me today that I'd be an extra 5 hours on the road, but I ignored it and belted home from Wales easy peasy!

Fair play dennis, but that is not a true indication as everybody belts home from Wales.

Stop! Shame on you! Wales is one of God's blessings to us all - beautiful country which I enjoy visiting every time I have a delivery there, whatever the weather. How wonderful to be able to go off topic safe in the knowledge that Darren won't jump on my head for once. Twisted Evil

DennisN

When I said better, only in that it gives you a true indication as to if you have a signal lock or not.

Beyond that, it is as useless as all other versions of Navcore 7 and the Navcore 8 that has shipped with the 930s so far for delay info etc.

Hopefully some time soon it will be fixed Very Happy

Today it seems to be back to normal. NO SERVICE.
I say that but i really am not sure, i planned a route to heathrow and the traffic bar comes up on the right side but nothing showing. Above the bar is a car with a green arrow looping over the top of it. Thats it.
Half the icons are greyed out and Auto tuning has gone completely, is this a feature of 7.4.8.1

Is it true the British Airlines ticket agents have a RDS-TMC receiver embedded in the tag for each piece of luggage in Heathrow 5? Smile

The looping green arrow is searching for a signal. I had full green circle all morning along M4 to London past Heathrow.
