Hello, i have recently purchased a TT Go 920 and would like to use your camera database instead of the one that came with the TT Go 920. I understand how to load your camera database, but i am not sure whether i need to delete the TT Go 920 camera database first, befor eloading your's and if so, which files on the TT Go 920 dfo i need to delete? Thanks, Kam |

Hello and welcome to the site. You dont have to delete the tomtom cameras, you can just disable them. That way you still have the option to use either system, or just one. The PGPSW set of cameras is generally regarded as the better of the two systems. Im not sure exactly how to disable the tomtom ones, i have a go 520 and just deleted them straight off.
First thing to do though, is make a full backup of the go 920 on your hrad disc BEFORE adding/deleting files. This will be very important later on if everything goes pear shaped!

Great thank you for the info. I have made the backup as suggested, but would be grateful to learn how to disable the TT cameras if anyone knows? |

Have a read of the FAQ page which can be found Here #13 should cover what you want, but I would leave the two databases on the device for a week to compare them, this way you will soon come to the conclusion that you have made the correct choice - Mike |

That FAQ will tell you the files to delete to get rid of them completely.
To just disable them rather than remove them, go to the 'TomTom Plus Services' menu (main menu page 3) then 'TomTom Safety Cameras', then 'Disable Alerts'. |

I purchased a tomtom520 and just disabled the Tomtom cameras via the Tomtom menu and then downloaded the pocketgps cameras.
I also added the voice warnings from this site .
After comparing the Tomtom safety cameras and the pocket GPS safety camera data base the pocketgps is so much more accurate |

Quick note of caution. On this forum, when we say make a backup, we mean for you to do it using Windows Explorer, copying everything from your device onto your PC. And do it fairly regularly too. _________________ Dennis
