help please making a diversity aerial

hello all,
i hope this is in the correct section.
i have bought a diversity tuner for my car - it cam with a little magnetic base aerial which works ok - as its a diversity tuner it has connections for 3 other aerials.
i am going to make the other 3 as the one that came with it is just a length of wire, what i would like to know is do i connect both ends of the coax to it or just the centre core?

You don't say what it's for - FM, TV or what? - I assume it's not GPS as it won't work without a special GPS receiver. As GPS makes range measurements from the satellites, having antennas in different places would confuse the receiver, stopping it using the satellites altogether.

sorry i forgot to mention its a 'universal diversity tv tuner', i thought diversity tuners were only for tv Embarassed

You can get diversity units for other frequencies/applications - usually used in cars - to help get the best signal strength. Look at any fully equipped police car - all the similar looking aerials will be connected to a diversity unit - usually.

And in 802.11 WiFi - that's why you see these wireless access points with two aerials......
