I want to upgrade from my Mio168, I have looked at the Road angel adv700 but have been put off by the reviews.
now looking at a Mio 560 with TT6 and memory map latest but can anyone tell me will I have to reload everything if the battery runs out like on the Mio168 if so this option is a non starter as well!!

there seems to be a big hole in the market for a car satnav type rugged and WP unit that can be used with full OS mapping as well...!

if the battery issue is solved I can live with having it in a case for the 560 (is this the most up-to-date model as well??

Last q. I promise... is the wifi internet up to much, I.e could I use it to practically browse this forum etc instead of powering up the lappy??

thanks in advance...

As the new unit you are looking at has WM2005 or WM6 installed as the operating system it won't wipe out when the battery goes flat. The newer OS has what is called Persistent storage, so it's fine when the power dies.

Using a PDA for internet access is fine when you have to, I regularly use my PDA phone but the screen size is a bind at times, once I am home the PC is put into use - try it to find out what you think though.

For protection of the 560 I would look at something from the Otter Box chaps, it will be fine in the car, but if you want a waterproof box that can withstand being knocked about while out walking...... - Mike

I've posted a quick review on this forum of the P560

This might give you some pointers.
