|
|
Hi all - can I pick your collective brains? I am borrowing my wife's IPAQ Hx 4700 with globalsat bluetooth GPS receiver since my 4700 finally gave up the ghost a few weeks ago (waiting for a TyTN ii when my phone contract expires). I run TTN5 and have never had any problems connecting but suddenly tomtom has stopped switching my bluetooth on when I start up. Even if i switch on bluetooth and connect to the GPS before starting up tomtom I still cant get connected. I have been into tomtom and selected "other bluetooth gps receiver" in the gps options and set it to connect via com port 8. The GPS receiver is fully paired with the IPAQ. I have also successfully connected to the gps receiver using my "GPS PAD" software which shows the GPS is working fine and GPS signal is received fine by the IPAQ so I can only assume it's a tomtom problem but don't know where to go from here. Any suggestions appreciated |

Have you fully shut down the other GPS application before trying to run up TomTom, if GPS Pad still has a connection to the GPS the TomTom will not be able to see it - Mike |

Yes- in fact I only loaded GPS pad to verify that the GPS was working and the problem was there before I loaded it. Thanks for the suggestion though-Alastair |

used to have a similar problem from time to time with my old hx 2110.
this worked for me delete the pairing and soft reset then pair again, select your device in tom tom this used to sort it for months then it would happen again never did get to the bottom of it.
