Nah, not really. The only bad thing is TomTom DPS 2.09 and the unbearably stupid wizard. Can you try to remove these and re-install TomTom GPS 2.07? The 2.09 is only required for BlueTooth connections.

I am not so sure. Your symptoms would point to something else... But yes, changing the GPS may be an idea. Maybe even getting a decent one, BlueTooth based for example

Lutz,

In your view what would you consider to be a good all round Bluetooth gps.
When I look at the posts, most seem to have problems.

Makes you wonder if wired would be better, although with my com 1 issue I will go for Bluetooth.

Hope to purchase on Monday, so I look forward to your views.

Steve

The newer ones are mostly free of the teething (sic) problems that the first ones had.

You are asking the wrong guy here, I would go for the max - the Royaltek datalogger RBT-3000

Go with your own taste. Most important criteria are battery life tima and case design (not kidding, there are some really ugly ones out there)

Go check our BlueTooth Comparison database.

Probably the best for reliability that we've found so far is the Emtac/Socket BT GPS.
