Hi All,
What program do you use to open the help file pages on the tomtom.
They show up as HTML files but when i try to open them it is garbbage.
Also can you add your own made help files if you put in your folder into the helpme folder with your HTML pages?

The HelpMe files are encrypted html which can be viewed via the TomTom HelpMe icon fine. They are not designed to be read on a PC etc.
Unsure about using your own content in the HelpMe folder but there is an in-built browser on some models (and available via custom menus on others) that you could use for your own content. I think it uses the "text" folder for it's content.

Wishlist that's a cracker I nearly spat my beer out laughing at those quotes, I have read the HelpMe files but never noticed the howlers in there before.
As for creation of your own HelpMe pages to go on the device what are you looking to put on the device, I have some information on this when tried to create my own guide a while back, but it didn't work on the device, the files are at home though, I will have another look when I get home - Mike |

I answered gluey (or 'kwc' anyway ) "in another place"...
I can get "simple" html files to show on the Go if I put them in the "text" folder. Didn't have much luck getting embedded images to show, but I never understand webpages and html anyway! |

I'm not registered with the Expansys site, Wishlist, but you could mention to them that a short-circuit on a 12V car battery COULD be fatal.
For a start, a spanner dropped across the terminals can fly across a room with surprising force, and with electrickery in general "it's volts that jolts, but current that kills" - a car battery can produce PLENTY of current. |

Err, no. I don’t think it says that it isn’t. And it would not be in line with the spirit of the post as it was not a definitive documentary on how to be safe by a qualified safety expert but some observational humour by a twisted comedian.  |

No probs. Just they said "12v is not normally 'lethal'", and it certainly can be.
(although to be fair, MOST fatalities are when the person gets a small shock and then falls off the 50 foot ladder!) |
